Fantastic family run hotel
10 of us stayed here for 2 nights before chartering a yacht from Preveza marina with Octopus Yachting. We were treated like royalty, the owner her son and staff were very accommodating and nothing was a problem for them, Hotel Nepheli is a must go to hotel if you are in the area. Octopus yachting although is a different matter DO NOT USE them, they will steal your deposit with authorisation, please book with another charter company and save yourself pain and stress.
We spent a few days in this hotel. The hotel is as beautiful as in the pictures and has a very unique garden. The owner and staff are very kind and helpful. They arranged everything we asked for, such as shuttle service to several places...etc. The room and all parts of the hotel were perfectly clean. It was a nice holiday here, we plan to come back again.
one night before our arrival we were told our room had been canceled due to water damage. After repeatedly asking for a refund of our payment, we have not yet received anything. They promise a lot, but deliver little. Unreliable.
At night, the exterior of the property is beautiful. Somebody spent a lot of time making the pool & garden area really nice. The lighting is great. But, that is the ONLY really nice aspect of this property. The room is as bare as you could imagine. White walls, bare, no place to put luggage or toiletries, one pillow, small tv... and a gross bathroom! The bathroom was not only bare and basic and was dirty. There was SO MUCH MOLD that I was grossed out being in there! Furthermore- the beautiful exterior at night looks shabby in the daylight. And the hot tub (which is perhaps the #1 thing we were looking forward to at the property) was NOT working. It was cool, the same temperature as the actual pool. How disappointing! Beyond that, the breakfast was not very good. We were disappointed.
Day before arrival the hotel cancelled reservation
In August 2019, one day before arrival (at 20:30!!) the hotel cancelled the reservation of a Superior Suite for a family of four. Upon contacting them, they a) claimed that they had issues with the A/C ("a leak" ?) these past 5-6 days(!) that they could not fix in all this time(!!). b) Apparently they had informed BOOKING.com in the same time frame, via which the reservation was made. I have received in the past messages via Booking.com from hotels about minor details (some late arrival requests). Nepheli Hotel apparently felt it was insignificant enough to let the time pass and not contact me. The gentleman on the phone acknowledged that they were observing that the reservation had not been cancelled. I find their conduct completely unprofessional and I cannot imagine that this is different in other aspects of their services. An additional note is that they did not offer on the phone any replacement property or a future discount. These amateurs are the kind of professional that drive tourists away from Greece. If a hotel charges 180euro/night, they better act the part as well!
